Definition of Ready (DoR)
DoR is the minimum level of clarity required before work is allowed into delivery.
Operational Rule: If DoR is not satisfied, the work is parked. No exceptions, no "we´ll figure it out in sprint."
Minimum Criteria
At a minimum, DoR must answer:
- Problem: What problem are we solving? (Not just "build feature X")
- Outcome: What business result are we aiming for?
- Scope: What is explicitly IN and explicitly OUT?
- Dependencies: Which systems, teams, or data can block us?
- Risks: What can hurt us?
- Ownership: Who owns the outcome (Business) vs. solution (Tech)?
This protects teams—especially neurodivergent minds—from being dragged into half-baked work that will explode later.
